Wallets Overview
Buho Jump supports three wallet types. Each serves a different need. You can use one, or add multiple and switch between them.
Three types, one choice
NWC
The easy one. Connect to Alby, Coinos, LNbits, and dozens more. Paste a connection string, done.
Cashu
The private one. Ecash tokens stored locally. No account, no login, no server watching your transactions.
LNbits
The power one. Connect to your own LNbits instance. Your server, your rules, full control.
Quick connect with NUTbits
If you run NUTbits, connect a dedicated wallet with a single click. No copy-paste needed. Set up →
Multiple wallets
Add as many wallets as you need. A Cashu wallet for private browsing. An NWC wallet for daily tips. An LNbits wallet for your business.
Switch between them with one tap. Each wallet has its own balance, transaction history, and spending limits.
Sending payments
Paste or scan any of these into the send field — Buho Jump detects the format automatically:
| Format | Example | How it works |
|---|---|---|
| Lightning invoice | lnbc1... | Pays the invoice directly |
| Lightning address | user@domain.com | Fetches an invoice from the recipient's server |
| LNURL pay (bech32) | lnurl1... | Decodes and fetches payment parameters |
| LNURL pay (LUD-17) | lnurlp://domain/path | Protocol-handler scheme — same as bech32 LNURL |
| LNURL withdraw | lnurlw://domain/path | Claims incoming funds (e.g., vouchers, faucets) |
| Nostr profile | npub1... or nprofile1... | Resolves profile → finds Lightning address → pays |
| Cashu ecash | cashuA... / cashuB... | Receives ecash tokens into your Cashu wallet |
South Africa — Pay online with Bitcoin
South African retailers that use MoneyBadger-compatible payment QR codes can be paid with Bitcoin through Buho Jump. This works on their online shops — paste or scan the payment QR code, and Buho Jump handles the rest.
Buho Jump detects the retailer QR code, converts it to a Lightning payment via CryptoQR, and shows the ZAR amount alongside the sats equivalent. The merchant receives ZAR — you pay in Bitcoin.
Receiving payments
Create a Lightning invoice from the receive screen. Share the QR code or copy the invoice string.
LNURL-withdraw links are also supported — paste a lnurlw:// link to claim incoming funds.
Fiat conversion
The wallet shows your balance and payments in both sats and your local currency. 19 currencies supported — USD, EUR, GBP, JPY, CHF, ZAR, and more. Toggle between sats and fiat by tapping the balance.
